Work Package 2 created the foundation for the training and dissemination activities of the NEDLib project.
During this stage, the partners identified and selected the main participants and institutions that later contributed to the project activities. These included university trainers, key librarians and public libraries or library branches acting as training centres. The selection process was important because the project followed a train-the-trainer approach, in which selected professionals were prepared to support wider groups of librarians, library users and citizens.
The selection process covered Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia, Portugal and Romania. The partners took into account the geographical and institutional specificities of each country in order to ensure wider regional coverage and stronger local impact. Public libraries and library branches were selected not only as project participants, but also as local points for training, knowledge transfer and community outreach.
As a result, the project established a transnational network of trainers, key librarians and training centres. This network supported the next stages of the project, including the development of educational content, the creation of practical tasks, local training activities, summer schools and dissemination events.
Key participation figures
- 5 partner countries took part in the selection process;
- 20 public libraries or library branches were identified as training centres;
- 8 university professors from ULSIT and IHU were selected as trainers;
- 50 key librarians were selected from the partner countries.
Main results
