The first specific objective of Work Package 5 with a duration 10 months starting in the twenty-seventh month from the
beginning of the project and continuing till its thirty-sixth month is related to the creation of a design concept for e-learning (a
problem-oriented learning model) and to the redistribution of roles in the transnational team. If we apply the appropriate
approach for design and development of our e-learning tool reflecting the needs of our main target group, we will contribute
to one of the general objectives of the project: to distribute learning materials in Media and Information Literacy (MIL)
organized in practical modules among wider group of potential users (librarians and citizens using library services) through
an online platform. The e-learning model will be based on the application of games engaging the librarians in active learning
strategies and in developing digital competences and information literacy skills in the library users. The other important
objective in WP5: to conduct three summer schools for library users and citizens will approbate the fully developed
intellectual product and will contribute to the general objective of the project: the optimization of the teaching modules and its
application in the daily work of libraries and librarians to build key competences in citizens.
The main results of WP5 will be: 1. Analysis of existing open source platforms and selection of a platform to be upgraded for
the purposes of NEDLib; 2. Design and implementation of e-learning platform for providing convenient access to the
theoretical and practical teaching modules in MIL developed in the framework of the project; 3. Approbation of the
functionalities of the platform and the organization of its content among a wide transnational audience of librarians and
library users through the organized summer schools in three of the partner countries; 4. Optimization of the platform.
