NEDLib Training for Library Users Held in Ventspils, Latvia

As part of the Erasmus+ project NEDLib – Digital Competences and Information Literacy for Librarians, the Ventspils Library in Latvia hosted a two-day face-to-face training programme for library users entitled “Become an Information Expert!”

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ critical thinking, information literacy, and media literacy skills in the digital environment. A total of 10 library users took part in the programme, engaging in practical activities and discussions focused on the responsible use of information and the ability to evaluate digital content critically.

The activity supported the NEDLib project’s mission to promote media and information literacy not only among librarians, but also among citizens and library users. Through such community-oriented training initiatives, libraries continue to strengthen their role as trusted spaces for learning, digital competence development, and informed participation in society.
