On 18 February 2026, the “Panait Istrati” County Library in Brăila hosted a face-to-face training session for librarians participating in the Erasmus+ project NEDLib – Digital Competence and Information Literacy for Librarians.
The session brought together 11 librarians, who explored the first two modules of the training course: information literacy and media literacy. Participants discussed the evolving role of librarians in today’s dynamic information environment and reflected on how libraries can support users in developing critical thinking and responsible information practices.
The following sessions will focus on fake news and gamification, further expanding participants’ practical skills and knowledge.
In Romania, the NEDLib project is implemented through ANBPR, in partnership with the county libraries of Iași, Cluj, Mureș, and the Bucharest Metropolitan Library.
The training supports the project’s overall goal of strengthening librarians’ digital competences and their ability to promote media and information literacy within local communities.
