First NEDLib Workshop for Library Users Held in Romania – 10 February 2026

The Ion Creangă Branch of the Bucharest Metropolitan Library hosted the first workshop dedicated to digital skills and media literacy for library users within the NEDLib – Digital Skills and Information Literacy for Librarians project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.

The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ ability to navigate the digital environment responsibly by promoting critical thinking and information literacy. Through interactive activities and practical exercises, participants learned how to evaluate the credibility of online information, distinguish between facts and opinions, and identify misinformation and manipulation techniques.

The event brought together participants of different ages, creating an engaging environment for intergenerational dialogue and collaborative learning. By encouraging active participation and practical application of newly acquired knowledge, the workshop reinforced the role of libraries as trusted spaces for lifelong learning, digital competence development, and informed civic participation.
