On 4–5 February 2026, the Salaspils Municipality Library hosted a training programme for librarians as part of the NEDLib – Digital Competences and Information Literacy for Librarians project.
The two-day training combined theoretical presentations with interactive practical activities, introducing participants to the project’s objectives and key learning modules. Special attention was given to the importance of digital competences and information literacy in the daily work of librarians.
Through gamification-based exercises and collaborative tasks, participants explored practical approaches to engaging library users and strengthening critical thinking skills. A role-play activity on different types of fraud provided hands-on experience in identifying online scams and discussing effective ways to raise public awareness.
At the end of the programme, participants received methodological materials to support the implementation of the acquired knowledge and skills in their professional practice. The training contributed to the NEDLib project’s mission of empowering librarians to promote media and information literacy within their communities.
