NEDLib Multiplier Event Held in Aizkraukle, Latvia – 11 June 2026

On 11 June 2026, a multiplier event under the Erasmus+ project NEDLib – Digital Competences and Information Literacy for Librarians was held at the Aizkraukle Regional Central Library in Latvia. The event took place as part of the methodological day for librarians of the Aizkraukle region and brought together 35 library professionals.

During the meeting, key librarian Ramona Ukrina introduced participants to the project’s goals, progress, developed methodological materials, implemented activities, and opportunities for using the project’s online resources in daily library work.

The event also included practical activities led by colleagues who had previously completed the NEDLib training. Participants explored topics such as recognising disinformation, evaluating AI-generated images, developing critical thinking, and using digital tools and educational games. Discussions also focused on media literacy, the influence of social networks, and the role of libraries in supporting users in today’s digital environment.

A colleague from the Pļaviņa Library shared impressions from the NEDLib Summer School in Bucharest, Romania, highlighting the value of international experience and professional exchange.

The event confirmed the importance of the theoretical and practical materials developed within the project, which can support libraries in promoting media and information literacy among users of different age groups.
