On 18 June 2026, the Madona Regional Library organised a professional development and experience exchange event for employees of municipal and school libraries from the Madona region.
As part of the programme, key librarians Daiga and Ieva shared their experiences from the international Summer Schools organised within the Erasmus+ project NEDLib – Digital Competence and Information Literacy for Librarians. Daiga presented insights from the Summer School hosted by the National Library of Latvia, while Ieva shared her experience from the Summer School held in Bucharest, Romania.
Although both Summer Schools focused on similar topics, the participants highlighted that each experience offered different perspectives, practical approaches, and opportunities for learning. The discussions underlined the importance of strengthening media literacy skills, building international professional contacts, and sharing acquired knowledge with colleagues and library users.
The event contributed to the dissemination of the NEDLib project results and supported the exchange of good practices among librarians in Latvia.
