On 15 May 2026, a NEDLib multiplier event took place at the Riebiņi Library in Preiļi region, Latvia.
The event was led by the key librarian Egija Aleksejeva, who shared travel stories and presented various travel experiences with the participants. A special part of the event was dedicated to libraries around the world as interesting places to visit while travelling. The discussion also included the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ projects, which combine professional development, education, cultural exchange and visits to libraries and cultural landmarks.
Egija presented the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Project NEDLib – Digital Competence and Information Literacy for Librarians and shared her experience from the training held in Bulgaria in February 2025. The training was attended by five Latvian librarians, who later disseminated the knowledge gained within their local communities.
The event highlighted the role of NEDLib in supporting librarians to develop digital competence, information literacy and media literacy skills through international cooperation, training activities and practical exchange of experience.
The meeting at Riebiņi Library provided an opportunity to present the project results to a local audience and to raise awareness of the importance of libraries as educational, cultural and community centres.
