On 19 and 20 February 2026, the Loulé – Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library organised a community training event on combating misinformation as part of the Erasmus+ project NEDLib – Digital Competence and Information Literacy for Librarians.
The training was interactive, free of charge, and certified, providing participants with practical knowledge and tools to better recognise misleading information and respond critically to the challenges of today’s digital environment.
The activity focused on strengthening citizens’ ability to identify misinformation and understand its impact on individuals and communities. Following this community training, librarian training activities will continue, enabling participating libraries to further apply the acquired knowledge in their local contexts.
The event contributed to the NEDLib project’s mission of supporting libraries as trusted spaces for media and information literacy, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
