The first specific objective of Work Package 4 with a total duration of 10 months starting in the nineteenth months of the project implementation and continuing till its twenty-eight month is related to the work of the key librarians from the partner countries on practically-oriented teaching modules based on the conceptual teaching materials created by the university professors from ULSIT and IHU in Work Package 3. The adapted practical learning modules will be again divided into 4 modules (Information Literacy, Media Literacy, Disinformation and Fake News, Gamification in Libraries) and will be intended for a wider group of librarians in each partner country (up to 20) and for library users of different age (up to 20) from the local communities. Thus, the developed training materials will reach various groups of information professionals and users of the public libraries in 5 European countries which will substantially contribute to the achievement of the general project objectives: to enhance the digital competences and information literacy of librarians and adult users of the public libraries in Europe.
The second important objective of Work Package 4 will be the conduction by the key librarians of series of trainings in the local training centres intended for other librarians and library users based on the practical teaching modules. The work languages of the trainings will be the national languages of the partners. A feedback by the participants will be sought on the content of the training and the free expression of ideas and suggestions by librarians and users will be encouraged. Thus, except the optimization of the teaching modules developed in the third and fourth WP another general objective of the project will be reached: raising the awareness of the European population on the issues related to MIL in a post-Covid situation and situation of war in the borders of the continent.
The main results of Work Package 4 will be: 1. Practically-oriented learning content in four areas important for the librarians and library users which will be organised in four teaching modules and 2. Training of the librarians and library users from all countries of the partnership in the learning centres selected during the activities of WP2 – Selection of Librarians. With regard to the first result of this WP an information will be provided about the aim and objectives of each practical module, the learning outcomes, the applied teaching methods, etc. As a basis for the development of the practical teaching modules the key librarians from the cultural institutions will use the primary teaching material created by the university professors during WP3 – Content and Training. During the development of the materials, a continuous connection will be established between the librarians from the identified key training centres in BG, GR, LT, PT and RO and the professors from ULSIT and IHU who will support the work on the practical modules and will give corrective feedback. The teaching materials will be developed first in English and then translated in the languages of the partnership before the second phase of WP4.
Concerning the second result of Work Package 4: five in-presence two-day trainings for wider group of librarians and adult library users from all partner countries will be organized between the twenty-fifth and the twenty-sixth month from the start of the project implementation in the key training centres in BG, GR, LT, PT and RO (one training per country). Four teaching modules with standardised structure translated in the languages of the partners will be used for the training. Their content will be evaluated by the participants at the end of the training in order to be optimised. Further common activities of professors and key librarians will be planned related to the preparation of the teaching materials for upload on the e-learning platform during WP5.
