The International Hellenic University’s Department of Libraries, Archives and Information Science and the MetaDATA Lab had a notable presence at the 21st Thessaloniki International Book Fair, represented through two exhibition stands, no 004 and 005 at the 5th Pavilion.
The event, which was held from 8 to 11 May 2025, attracted more than 110,000 visitors, including citizens, authors, publishing professionals, and library practitioners, providing an exceptional opportunity to increase visibility and engagement for the NEDLib project. Promotional materials, printed brochures, and a project poster were showcased, drawing attention to the project’s innovative approach to empowering librarians, citizens— especially young adults and lifelong learners—through critical thinking and digital skills development.
In addition to the physical presence at the Fair, the Greek team strategically used social media platforms to amplify the reach of NEDLib’s messages. Awareness of the project’s aims and themes was further strengthened through promotion during three thematic events that MetaDATA Lab held at the 21st Thessaloniki International Book Fair:
- E-Books and Libraries in Greece
- LeadERlikeHER Innovation, Leadership, Transformation, Change, Empowerment and Inspiration
- AI in Education & Culture: Opportunities, Challenges and Transformation.
The events featured the presence of prominent representatives from the political arena, leading business professionals, and esteemed personalities from the cultural sector and contributed to establishing NEDLib’s visibility among educators, librarians, youth organisations, and the broader public, underlining its role in fostering resilient and critically informed communities.
