During the National Conference of Librarians and Public Libraries – BiblioNEXT, organized by the National Association of Librarians and Public Libraries of Romania (ANBPR) on April 28–29, 2025, in Sibiu, Executive Director Ioana Crihană presented the progress and achievements of several European projects coordinated by ANBPR, with a particular focus on the Erasmus+ project NEDLib – “Digital Competence and Information Literacy for Librarians.”
The NEDLib project, implemented under the Erasmus+ KA220-ADU programme in partnership with institutions from Latvia, Bulgaria, Greece, and Portugal, is a strategic initiative in the field of digital skills and media literacy. It aims to strengthen the role of librarians as educators and community leaders in combating misinformation, promoting critical thinking, and fostering lifelong learning.
Within the project, resources have been developed in four key areas:
- Information Literacy
- Recognition of Fake News and Disinformation
- Media Literacy
- Gamification in Libraries
As part of the project’s activities, Romanian librarians participated in international training sessions held in Thessaloniki and Sofia, where they gained valuable knowledge and pedagogical experience to be transferred and implemented within Romanian libraries and training centers.
Through its participation in NEDLib, ANBPR continues to strengthen its position as a key European partner in advancing digital competence, media education, and innovation in adult learning, ensuring that public libraries in Romania remain dynamic hubs for education, inclusion, and digital transformation.
