The first specific objective of Work Package 3 starting in the sixth months of the project and continuing till its eighteenth month is related to the development by university professors from ULSIT and IHU of primary teaching materials in four thematic areas intended for up to 50 key librarians in total from BG, GR, LV, PT and RO (up to 10 key librarians per country). The teaching materials organised in modules will be developed in English and will cover 4 thematic areas connected with the digital competences: Information Literacy; Media Literacy; Fake News and Disinformation; Gamification in Libraries. The second important objective of Work Package 3 will be the conduction of two parallel in-presence training activities for the key librarians in both universities from the partnership (ULSIT-BG and IHU-GR) with a duration of 5 days each. The key librarians from public libraries in each of the five countries will be divided into 2 groups as each group will consist of up to 25 librarians. The working language of the trainings will be English.
Work Package 3 is a key moment of the project implementation as the foundations are set for the collaboration between the university professors and the key librarians that will continue during the whole project and will be essential for the successful fulfilment of its general objectives. The feedback gathered from the key librarians after the trainings with regard to the teaching modules will help the university professors in the process of their improvement. The in-presence meeting between the professors and the key librarians during the training activities will allow fruitful exchange of information and better understanding of the needs of the project’s target groups. The transnational character of the training will also allow the key librarians from all countries of the partnership to communicate with each other and to plan the forthcoming common activities of the librarians within the project in the most practical way.
The main results of Work Package 3: Content and Trainings will be: 1. primary learning content in four areas important for the librarians which will be organised in theoretical teaching modules and 2. training of the key librarians from all countries of the partnership. With regard to the first result of this Work Package an information will be provided about the aim and objectives of each module, the learning outcomes, the applied teaching methods, etc. During the development of the materials in English, a continuous connection will be established between the professors from ULSIT and IHU and the librarians from the identified key training centres in BG, GR, LT, PT and RO who will support the work on the teaching materials and will give corrective feedback. Concerning the second result of Work Package 3: two in-presence transnational short-term staff training events for librarians from the partner countries with a duration of days will take place in BG and GR between the fifteenth and the seventeenth month from the start of the project implementation. The participants will be divided into two groups of up to 25 people. Four teaching modules with standardised structure will be used for the training. Their content will be evaluated by the participants at the end of the training in order to be optimised. The further common activities of professors and key librarians related to the adaptation of the existing modules for the trainings of a wider group of librarians and library users will be planned.
