The NEDLib project included a series of transnational meetings, training activities, summer schools, multiplier events and dissemination activities organised in the partner countries.
These events supported the development, testing, improvement and promotion of the project results. They brought together university teachers, library professionals, key librarians, adult library users, students, educators, media and information professionals and other stakeholders interested in digital competence, media and information literacy.
Through its events, NEDLib created opportunities for cooperation between academic institutions, public libraries, professional organisations and local communities. The activities helped the partners exchange experience, test the learning materials, collect feedback and promote the project results at local, national and international level.

Kick–off Meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece – 8-10 February 2024
The Kick-Off Meeting was held at the International Hellenic University/Διεθνές Πανεπιστήμιο της Ελλάδος at the premises of American Farm School. The meeting was dedicated to planning and discussion of Work Packages 2 and 3. WP2: Selection of Librarians included identification of training centers (libraries): in each partner country, according to the project, 5 training centers will be selected (20 in total). The selection criteria are:
− to be a public library.
− to work and maintain an active connection with the smaller libraries in the region in order to achieve maximum coverage and dissemination of the results of the planned training activities.
− to be selected so as to cover territorially the administrative regions in each specific country (an east-west-north-south approach is also possible).
− to be selected in such a way that the training activities for users planned for implementation later in the project to cover and reach as many citizens who need the trainings as possible.
WP3 – Content creation and trainings has 4 intellectual outputs:
- Intellectual Output 1: Information literacy – theoretical and practical parts.
- Intellectual Output 2: Media Literacy – identify the New media environment and how it functions now and then focus on social media.
- Intellectual Output 3: Disinformation and Fake News – adopt different directions and guidelines for different user groups of different ages.
- Intellectual Output 4: Gamification in Libraries – define the categories of games based on the ages of the target groups.
Training Activities for Key Librarians – Bulgaria and Greece – 2025
As part of the project implementation, NEDLib organised training activities for key librarians from the partner countries. The trainings were based on the theoretical educational modules developed by the university partners. They covered four thematic areas:
- Information Literacy;
- Media Literacy;
- Fake News and Disinformation;
- Gamification in Libraries.
The key librarians had the opportunity to discuss the content, exchange professional experience and provide feedback from the perspective of public libraries and library users. These trainings played an important role in connecting academic expertise with practical library work. The trained key librarians later supported the adaptation of the materials into practical tasks and contributed to local training activities in the partner countries.
Local Training Activities – Partner countries 2025–2026
Local training activities were organised in the partner countries with the involvement of selected training centres and key librarians. These activities focused on testing the practical modules developed within the project. Librarians and adult library users worked with practical tasks related to information literacy, media literacy, disinformation, fake news and gamification in libraries. The local trainings helped the partners evaluate how the materials worked in real library environments. Feedback from participants supported the improvement of the practical content and prepared the materials for wider use through the NEDLib e-learning platform.
International Summer Schools – Romania, Latvia and Portugal 2026
Three international summer schools were organised in Romania, Latvia and Portugal as part of the final testing and optimisation of the NEDLib educational content and e-learning platform. The summer schools brought together participants from the partner countries, including librarians, library users and other stakeholders interested in media and information literacy. Participants used the NEDLib platform, worked with the learning materials and practical activities, and shared feedback on the content and learning experience. The summer schools supported the evaluation of the platform and helped improve the educational resources before their wider dissemination. They also strengthened the international cooperation between librarians, educators and project partners.
Final Transnational Project Meeting – Bulgaria, 14-15 July 2026
The Final Transnational Project Meeting of the Erasmus+ project NEDLib – Digital Competence and Information Literacy for Librarians takes place on 14 and 15 July 2026, following the project’s Final Conference in Sofia. The meeting brings together the NEDLib project partners from Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia, Portugal and Romania to discuss the final administrative, reporting and sustainability actions before the official closure of the project.
