
In the period 24-28 February 2025, University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (ULSIT) hosted the 2nd Training of Key Librarians in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The agenda included training on all four modules – Information Literacy between theory and practice, Media Literacy, Fake News and Disinformation and Gamification in the Libraries. There was also a visit LibLab where key librarians learned a lot about restoration & conservation procedures. Day 2 included case studies when Assoc. Prof. Bilyana Yavrukova, PhD, Director of University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” presented Training at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” for users, students and librarians. Lyudmila Tomova, Director of Central Medical Library, Medical University – Sofia, presented her topic Beyond Books: The Library’s Experience in Delivering Online Research Training. The agenda icluded a visit to the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library and books from the 18th century and the restoration center. Participants also have visited The Saint Sophia Church and basilica. The training finished with a visit to AI & VR Laboratory and a presentation of UNESCO Chair on ICT in Library Studies. The cherry on top was a visit to Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” University Library.
